    Credit unions receive CUPAC awards

    At Kansas and Missouri Days at the Capitol, we recognized credit unions in both states with new awards for their support of the Credit Union Political Action Committee (CUPAC) in 2019.  

    Chairman’s Award recognizes the credit union that raises the highest percentage over its state and federal CUPAC goal, which is based on asset size, in each state.

    Credit union advocates from Missouri and Kansas made their voices heard when more than 300 advocates were in Topeka and Jefferson City earlier this month. Both events included lawmaker visits, legislative discussions and the opportunity to hear from each states' Lieutenant Governor.     The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act was signed into law on December 20, 2019.  Many of the Act’s provisions took effect on January 1, 2020.  The primary goals of the SECURE Act are to expand retirement savings, improve plan administration, simplify existing rules, and preserve retirement income.
