    Missouri Financial Institution Data Match Legislation Moves Forward

    The Missouri legislative session ends on May 17, and that means lawmakers are furiously working to get their bills passed in both chambers before time runs out.  Bills that are moving in the House and Senate are quickly becoming so-called “Christmas trees” - with amendments being added on to the original language.  One of these recent additions to fast-moving legislation includes language requiring participation in the Financial Institution Data Match (FIDM) program – which would affect credit unions serving members in Missouri.

    PACE Legislation Debated on the Missouri House Floor

    For the first time ever, the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program was addressed in a bill debate on the House floor – a significant development on an issue affecting credit unions this session. HB 215 and SB 173 modify provisions to the PACE program in which PACE providers provide loans to consumers for energy upgrades (ex. solar panels). Last week, Missouri State Representative Bruce DeGroot (R-District 101) offered House Bill 215 as an amendment to Senate Bill 53 (Political Subdivision Bill) on the House Floor and quite the debate ensued.
