    Both the Missouri House and Senate will be under new leadership when they convene for the annual legislative session in January 2019. After constituents voted, winners in the general election traveled to Jefferson City to vote on leadership in the Republican and Democratic parties.

    Kansas Credit Union Administrator Reappointed, Pending Senate Approval

    Kansas Credit Union Administrator Jerel Wright will soon be reappointed, pending full Senate approval. The Kansas Senate Confirmations Oversight Committee recently reviewed Governor Jeff Colyer’s nominations, including the position Credit Union Administrator, and unanimously approved the Governor’s reappointment of Wright.

    We are busy working on ways to bring lawmakers and candidates together with credit union leaders across our states. Just last week, the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions, together with HCUA, held its annual legislative reception. Coming up next is the Candidate Forum on October 4, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.

    Two candidates seeking election to the Kansas House came under fire last week. The Kansas Republican Party cut ties with Michael Capps after allegations of child abuse surfaced. Another candidate, Adam Thomas, was arrested last week on charges of election perjury.
