Two and a half weeks into session, the House has already voted out four bills addressing ethics reform, and Senate committees met to work on a number of issues, including an expert witness bill, transportation tax, abortion and urban earning taxes.

Kansas State Legislative Update

The 2016 Kansas Legislative Session officially kicked off Monday, January 11 at 2 p.m. So far, 44 new bills have been introduced at the Capitol in addition to the 700+ bills laid over from the 2015 legislative session. Committees will be in full force over the next week or two as more bills continue to be introduced.

Stephanie Mullholland Joins HCUA Advocacy Team

Stephanie Mullholland has joined the staff of Heartland Credit Union Association as State Legislative Director in Kansas. Prior to HCUA, she directed government affairs for the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents (KAIA). Mullholland has previously served as Chief of Staff in the Senate Majority Leader’s Office.
