School is almost here and so are Credit Unions for Kids’ upcoming national campaigns. Let’s get ready to celebrate them all.

Miracle Jeans Day—September 9

More than 40 youth from Better Family Life’s Youth Leadership Program recently experienced what it will be like living on their own. The teens attended a financial reality fair sponsored by Electro Savings Credit Union in coordination with Bank On Save Up, a program formed by the St. Louis Unbanked Task Force.

1st Financial Federal Credit Union (Wentzville) created the Helping People 1st Grant to support non-profit organizations who are focused on housing, financial literacy, job training, or education efforts in the St. Louis area. In June, the downtown branch on Washington Avenue continued this support by working with Redevelopment Opportunities for Women (ROW).

Recently, TelComm Credit Union (Springfield) was mentioned in DepositAccounts.com's "Top 200 Healthiest Credit Unions" list.

Due to weather, the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions' 2015 Golf Scramble had to be rescheduled. The new date is Wednesday, August 5, 2015, and it will still be held on the Landings at Spirit Golf Club. Proceeds will benefit the St. Louis Chapter scholarship fund, financial literacy and advocacy.

1st Financial Federal Credit Union’s "Your Community 1st Grant" program has selected Vernon Mansfield and Blessings to Others to receive a $500 grant that will be used to support the creation of affordable housing for St. Louis area residents.

Bank On More (BOM) has been busy this summer partnering with credit unions around the state. We were in Jefferson City for Thursday Nights Live and Salute to America, Kansas City for the Saint Luke's Community Picnic, Mexico, Mo.

A Missouri nominee will participate in the CUES Next Top Credit Union Executive competition. Danielle Buscher, the Learning and Development Manager at West Community Credit Union and its division Tigers Credit Union, will compete against 19 other credit union nominees from the US and Canada to earn the title of “Next Top Credit Union Executive.”
