MCUA Comments on Two FASB Proposals

On Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) filed comment letters on two separate Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) proposals, both of which were developed through FASB’s Private Company Council (PCC). MCUA generally supports both proposals as issued for comments. The proposals would allow private reporting entities—including credit unions—to elect alternative standards within U.S.

MCUA Sends NCUA Regulatory Review Comment Letter

The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) sent the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) a comment letter on Aug. 5, 2013 detailing changes to regulations that NCUA has under review for 2013. NCUA annually reviews one-third of the agency’s regulations, resulting in all of the agency’s regulations being reviewed every three years.

Filene Seeks Input on Credit Union Regulatory Burden

Filene Research Institute is seeking North American credit unions to complete a survey on increasing regulation on credit unions in the United States and Canada. Responses are due Aug. 13, 2013. These responses will form the basis of a study seeking to quantify regulatory burden for credit unions, especially its differing effects across asset sizes.
