Missouri U.S. Representatives Take Part in NCUA Congressional Hearing

U.S. Representatives Lacy Clay (D-District 1) and Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-District 3) both questioned National Credit Union Administration Chairman Debbie Matz during a Congressional hearing on NCUA’s operations and budget. The hearing took place on July 23 in front of the House Financial Services subcommittee on financial institutions and consumer credit.

CFPB Delays Mortgage Disclosures to October 1

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has announced a two-month delay of a new rule, which would combine two mortgage disclosure regimes—the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). The news broke during the Missouri Credit Union Association’s (MCUA) statewide training seminar that addressed TILA-RESPA (also known as TRID).

Meeting with U.S. House Financial Services Leaders in Missouri

Credit union staff and volunteers met with two members of the House Financial Services Committee on September 2 and 3, during the in-district work period.

U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-District 5) welcomed credit union leaders to his Kansas City office on September 2 to discuss issues and concerns. Ten representatives from five credit unions and the Missouri Credit Union Association took part in the meeting.
