CUlead Spotlight: Emily Buehler, Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union

We're excited to get to know the 2019 CUlead class – and we'd thought you would too! Each week, we'll feature one of these future leaders in our CUlead Spotlight.

This week, we meet Emily Buehler, director of branch operations, Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (St. Louis, MO).

What is your favorite thing about working at a credit union?
People helping people, both personally and professionally.

What does true leadership mean to you?
Leadership to me is creating a vision that others are inspired by and motivated to follow. It’s having a passion to influence and encourage people to be the best they can be. A leader values the diversity on the team, treats their employees with respect, makes them feel appreciated and ensures team members have the skills and abilities to do their job and to grow professionally. They have an interest and personal investment in their employees continued growth beyond their current role.

There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types?
Those that love and those that hate.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?
Not sure if taking a nap would be considered an activity, but I'm known for my "refresher" naps on the weekends, so I definitely think I could win a medal for that.

What do you wish you knew more about?
I wish I knew more about what my future holds for me.
