There's quite a lot happening at credit unions throughout Missouri! Here are a few of the headlines that were sent our way this last week.

Neighbors Credit Union (St. Louis, MO) embraced the “People Helping People” philosophy by fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals during International Credit Union Month. Through the efforts of employees and members, Neighbors Credit Union raised $2,353 in October.

Throughout October, Neighbors Credit Union employees sold paper balloons for at least a $1 donation. Employees could also dress down in their jeans on International Credit Union Day, October 20, for a small donation to CMN Hospitals. The highlight of the month was the annual bake sale, held on International Credit Union Day. All eight branches provided homemade and store bought cookies, brownies, candy, breads and other tasty treats for a $1 donation. All of the proceeds supported CMN of Greater St. Louis.

Since the beginning of the year, Neighbors Credit Union employees and members have raised a total of $8,530.47 for CMN Hospitals.

CMN of Greater St. Louis raises money for St. Louis Children's Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, which treat all children regardless of the family's ability to pay.

Vantage Credit Union Announces Winner in Summer Social Media Promotion

Dr. Priscilla Smith is the $1,000 winner of Vantage Credit Union's (St. Louis, MO) social media Wish Do! summer promotion. To qualify for the social media promotion, members shared what their wish would be if they won the prize money. Dr. Smith was randomly drawn from all qualifying participants.

Members were encouraged to submit ideas online using video, photos or essays. Her wish was to spend a week at a Hilton Hotel in Myrtle Beach.

“I love the beach and the ocean, they are in short supply here in Ohio,” commented Dr. Smith. “The ocean is still warm this time of the year and it would be like extending the summer for just a bit longer.”
