Credit Union News: Frontier & Vantage

There's quite a lot happening at credit unions throughout Kansas and Missouri! Here are a few of the headlines that were sent our way this last week.

Frontier Community Credit Union Donates $3,000 To Survivor Outreach Services

Frontier Community Credit Union President Michael J. Augustine presents a $3,000 check to Lisa Pokorny, Survivor Outreach Services Coordinator, and Janice Downey, Army Community Service Director, at the 6th Annual Fort Leavenworth Run/Walk for the Fallen.

Frontier Community Credit Union (Leavenworth, KS) has made a $3,000 contribution from its Surviving Spouse & Family Member program to support the Survivor Outreach Services program. The program is part of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Fort Leavenworth.

The credit union donated $1,500, and the Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN) made a matching contribution of $1,500. This is the fifth year the credit union has made the donation with matching AFFN funds, for a total of $15,000.

“The contribution is an expression of gratitude for the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families to defend American freedom,” says Frontier Community Credit Union president Michael J. Augustine. “With the support of the Armed Forces Financial Network, everyone at the credit union is honored to have the opportunity to broaden services available to families of the fallen here in our community.”

John M. Broda, AFFN president & CEO, is proud to support Frontier Community with military community outreach. “We appreciate the credit union’s unwavering support of the greater Fort Leavenworth military and civilian community,” says Broda.

Vantage Credit Union Kicks Off Annual Holiday Giving Program, Announces $5,000 Prize Winners

Vantage Credit Union impacts the lives of their members and community in meaningful ways, like supporting the less fortunate in their community and providing affordable loan options to members.

Starting on November 2, staff and members are collecting new gifts for a Christmas party at Busch Stadium hosted by Cardinals Care, the charitable organization of the St. Louis Cardinals. Vantage is the sole provider of gifts for this annual party, which provides holiday cheer to 300 children in need.

In addition, Vantage Credit Union also participates in Warners’ Warm-Up, serving as drop off points for new and gently-used winter coats and new children’s gifts. Started in the bi-state area in 2001, Warners’ Warm-Up collects nearly 15,000 coats each year for those in need, that are then distributed through Operation Food Search across the St. Louis, MO region.

For those with no time to shop or no coats to donate, the credit union is also taking cash donations to purchase gifts and food for local charities. All donations benefit charities in each individual branch community.

Not only does the credit union support the community, they help their members to make their wish happen. Recently, Vantage announced the winners of a home equity promotion, Jeffery and Mary Cunningham, members since 1978. The couple was randomly drawn from qualifying entrants and won $5,000.

“Vantage is committed to enhancing the lives of our members by offering a variety of affordable loan options. A home equity loan is a great way to pay for home improvements, consolidate more expensive debt, or even pay educational costs,” commented Jim Cochran, Vantage Executive Vice President. “I would like to personally congratulate Jeffery and Mary and wish them well. ”
