Vantage, White Eagle Credit Unions Support Students

Every day, credit unions help children and young adults work towards a brighter future - whether it's ensuring they have the materials they need for school or providing scholarship opportunities for college. Check out how Vantage Credit Union (St. Louis, MO) and White Eagle Credit Union (Augusta, KS) have been supporting area youth.

Vantage Credit Union Collects School Supplies, Encourages Youth to Dream Big

Every summer for more than 16 years, Vantage Credit Union's employees and members have donated funds and collected new school supplies for area children. The funds and school supplies benefit the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition of Greater St. Louis and the KidSmart Store, an educational supply store in Bridgeton providing teachers with free school supplies for area students in need.

“Heading back to school can be stressful for any student, but especially for those without the basic supplies needed to be fully engaged,” says Rachel Parrent, community engagement manager, Vantage Credit Union. “Vantage is proud to continue our efforts to get supplies in the hands of students in need through KidSmart and the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition.”

Vantage is accepting donations at every branch until August 31.

In addition, the credit union is encouraging youth ages 11-17 to dream big and think about the future. If they share these ideas in creative form (photos, videos, drawings, etc.) with Vantage, they are entered for a chance to win up to $1,000 towards a computer.

“It’s never too early to begin thinking about your future,” says Parrent. “This is a fun way to encourage youth to think ahead and to reward creativity with a tool they can use now to help them advance toward their dreams.”
