Save the Date: Compliance Conference in July

Mark your calendars for our Compliance Conference! Learn key compliance information from nationally recognized speakers without having to leave your state. You will save time, travel and expenses, all while gaining a wealth of information!

For your convenience, we will provide this training at two locations, St. Louis, MO on July 13-14 and Topeka, KS on July 27-28. Experts Christy Curtis Jones and Kristen Tatlock will lead both two-day conferences. They will address the topics below.

Day One

Attendees will cover the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). In 2010, the Dodd-Frank Act gave Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA)/Regulation C rulemaking authority to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). In October, 2015, the CFPB issued a new final rule requiring institutions to report additional information under HMDA. These new rules for HMDA reporting will be effective January 1, 2018.

The class will:

  • Review whether the credit union meets the definition of an “institution” that must comply with HMDA
  • Define a “covered loan” for HMDA reporting purposes
  • Discuss quarterly reporting requirements for high-volume lenders
  • Address new disclosure requirements
  • Cover the added data points that will be required to be reported (i.e. applicant or borrower age, credit score, lender credits, total loan costs or points and fees)

It is important to note that HELOC and reverse mortgage reporting will now be required.

Day Two

Attendees will learn about:

  • Military Lending Act (MLA)
  • Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
  • The World According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
  • Vendor Due Diligence
  • Social Media
