First Community's Record Loan Month

First Community Credit Union (Chesterfield, MO) closed out the books for March with just shy of $35 million in automobile loans disbursed. This was the highest number of auto loans closed in the company’s 82-year history.

“We have always been aggressive when it comes to auto loans, and it’s great to consistently be among the top lenders in the area,” says Glenn D. Barks, president/CEO. “We have always had a very strong relationship with the dealers in our indirect program and that along with high automobile sales so far this year is working for us right now.”

River Cities Community Credit Union Announces Scholarship Recipients

Haley Donaldson, Makenzie Dougherty and Jacqueline Janorschke have been named the recipients of the Joseph M. Carrigan Memorial Scholarship sponsored by River Cities Community Credit Union (Atchison, KS).  Each of these recipients will receive $1000 towards their college education. This is the twentieth year for the scholarship. River Cities has given over $30,000 in scholarships over the past 20 years.

Joe Carrigan was well known for his involvement in the community. He was instrumental in the formation of River Cities Community Credit Union, formerly known as McCormick Midwest Employees Credit Union. Scholarship winners are based on their involvement in school, grades, citizenship and involvement in the community. They must also submit an essay on credit unions.  All applicants, either themselves or their parents, must be a member of the credit union.  In the essay, applicants have a chance to tell how the credit union has benefited either themselves or their families.
