CUlead Spotlight: Shane Cox, United Credit Union (MO)

Throughout 2016, we will feature each of our CUlead participants.

Shane Cox, Training Manager
United Credit Union, Mexico, MO

As part of the CUlead program, you were asked to read “Good to Great” by Jim Collins. What was one aspect of the book that really spoke to you?
The executives who transformed their companies from good to great did not first figure out where to drive the bus and then get people to take it there. They first got the right people on the bus (and the wrong people off the bus) and then figured out where to drive it. They said, “Look, I don’t really know where we should take the bus. But I know this much: If we get the right people on the bus, the right people in the right seats, and the wrong people off the bus, then we’ll figure out how to take it someplace great.”

What was the last photo you took with your phone (or camera)?
I hate folding laundry and have a HUGE pile in my room right now! Yesterday morning, I noticed the pile was moving from within. I then see my son, Peyton, poke his head out. I asked him what he was up to, and he said, "I went sock fishing and got trapped!" Can you find him?

If you could only eat one meal the rest of your life, what would it be?
A ribeye, king crab legs, cheesy potatoes, lots of chocolate and a bottle of Riesling.
