Don't Miss Out: KS, MO Advocacy Events Start Next Week!

Credit union leaders, staff and volunteers are needed to share the credit union difference with lawmakers at advocacy events in Kansas and Missouri. Please make plans to attend Heartland Credit Union Association's upcoming Kansas Day at the Capitol and Missouri Advocacy Meeting.  There's still time to register! Details on each event are posted below.

Credit unions play a vital role within the communities they serve. From providing essential financial services and meeting their communities' needs, to offering financial education opportunities and outreach, credit unions make a positive impact each and every day. These events allow advocates to share credit union stories with lawmakers one-on-one and network with fellow credit union leaders.

Both of the advocacy events are just $20 per person.

KANSAS: Day at the Capitol, February 9

From prize-linked savings to the threat of regulatory consolidations, several issues impacting credit unions are on the table this session, making your participation in Kansas Credit Union Day at the Capitol even more important.

Join more than 130 credit union advocates and make an impact in Topeka on Tuesday, February 9. See the Senate Chambers up close, meet as a small group with your State Senator and State Representative about the bills affecting credit unions, and learn more about the issues being debated at our Statehouse this year - plus enjoy our popular evening reception with lawmakers from across the state. This is also a great opportunity to network with other credit union representatives and to meet the HCUA Advocacy team.

View the agenda and register.

Senate Majority Leader Terry Bruce will welcome credit unions on the Senate floor and give an inside perspective on the 2016 Session. In the afternoon, participants will hear firsthand from both the Senate and House financial institutions committee chairmen, Sen. Jeff Longbine of Emporia and Rep. Scott Schwab of Olathe, during the Q&A panel.

Invite your staff, invite your board members and plan to join us on Feb. 9. For questions, contact Stephanie Mullholland or Haley DaVee, 800.362.2076.
