Jason Carlson, assistant branch manager, Meritrust Credit Union (Wichita, KS), and Ashley Scroggins, graphic design and new media specialist, West Community Credit Union (O’Fallon, MO), have been selected to Crash the GAC in Washington, D.C., February 21-25.

Carlson and Scroggins are eager to learn more about advocacy and find inspiration in the movement.

“As a young professional who is passionate about the credit union movement, I am learning the importance of advocacy,” says Carlson. “I look forward to meeting with other leaders from around the nation and doing my part to progress the movement – while hopefully inspiring others to do the same.”

“It is such an honor to represent my state at the GAC,” says Scroggins. “I am excited to be a voice for my credit union on a national scale and to promote and sustain the credit union movement as a next generation leader.”

Crash the GAC brings young credit union professionals together, running a tailored program alongside the Governmental Affairs Conference and allowing for mentor sessions with key individuals from organizations like the National Credit Union Foundation, Credit Union National Association, Filene Research Institute and CUNA Mutual Group.

“Looking at the advocacy issues that face credit unions early in one’s career helps set our young professionals up with the right knowledge to help support their credit unions as they become our CEO’s of the future,” says James Marshall, Manager of The Cooperative Trust. “With a reach across the whole of the United States, Crash the GAC brings a diverse group of future leaders to the forefront of credit unions at the industry’s premier event.”

All Crashers receive a complimentary registration to attend GAC, from Credit Union National Association.

The Crash the GAC is brought to you by The Cooperative Trust and CUNA, in association with credit union leagues/associations.
