MO Flooding: Credit Union Input Needed for CUAid Activation

Heavy rainfall over the past week has caused rare winter flooding throughout Missouri, which has led Governor Jay Nixon to declare a state of emergency. Flooding has affected a number of credit unions, their members and their communities. Evacuations, power outages, and road closures fill the news each day.

Based on the widespread effects of the flooding, we believe there will be a great need for financial assistance during the relief efforts, necessitating the activation of CUAid. CUAid is the only program of its kind that enables credit union employees, volunteers, and members, as well as credit unions and credit union organizations across the U.S., to contribute directly to support credit union people.

But we need to hear from you to make it possible.

If your credit union has experienced any issues caused by flooding, please send us a note at pr@mcua.org. Issues can include, but are not excluded to branch closures, power outages, staffing (employees unable to get into work), inaccessibility (roads closures make it impossible to reach union), etc. In addition, please contact us if you know of any credit union members or staff who have been negatively impacted by flooding.

If you have any questions about CUAid, please contact Maria Langston, 314.542.1344.
