“Building financial peace-of-mind together with our members is at the heart of CommunityAmerica’s calling. From a foundation perspective, this extends beyond our membership to the Kansas City community at large. That’s why we’re so proud to partner with Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity supporting financial literacy in our hometown. This will allow local families to receive financial and home ownership education to get them into safe and affordable housing," says Rick Schier, Chairman, CommunityAmerica Credit Union Foundation.

The Truman Heritage HFH created the financial literacy program to give families the tools they need for their journey towards home ownership. The financial literacy counselor meets will all members of the community and helps them either increase their eligibility for a Habitat home or for a traditional home loan. Within the first year, the program has assisted 94 families and five families were able to apply for traditional home loans on their own.
