Bank On More's KC Speed Savings Needs YOU!

Among 2013 college graduates, the average Missourian walked away with $24,957 in student loan debt. (Missouri ranks 33 in national student loan debt.) Most college students are not well equipped to pay off or manage their student loans, which can harm their financial wellbeing. That's where Bank On More comes in--we want to help them lessen their financial burden.

To help college students learn the importance of personal finance, Bank On More has partnered with the Metropolitan Community College (MCC) to bring a "Speed Savings" event to the Longview campus on August 11-12. But we need your help to bring this fun, engaging event to students.

Here's how it will work. Students will visit stations that will tackle different topics: managing student loans, improving your credit score, budgeting and credit card management. A credit union volunteer (that's you!) will man each station and explain a financial topic in short, five-minute intervals. Every station will have the opportunity to talk about the credit union advantage. Once a student funnels through all the stations, they are eligible for a cash drawing, sponsored by Bank On More.

The Speed Savings event will have four sessions, and we need six volunteers for each session:

  • August 11: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. & 2-7 p.m.
  • August 12: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. & 2-7 p.m.

Training materials will be provided to volunteers ahead of time. The information will be concise and hit top-level points.

Individual credit unions are encouraged to supplement the drawing with items such as gift cards, iPads and/or tablets to provide a more robust event.
