Bank On More Partners with Credit Union Events Around the State

Bank On More (BOM) has been busy this summer partnering with credit unions around the state. We were in Jefferson City for Thursday Nights Live and Salute to America, Kansas City for the Saint Luke's Community Picnic, Mexico, Mo. for the Mexico Street Fair, Fort Leonard Wood for the 2015 MAD Cardinal 5K Run, and Wings Over Whiteman in Knob Noster. Bank On More also sponsored the Miss Missouri Pageant.

Additional events that we have supported include:

Fulton Hit the Bricks Street Fair

On June 19 - 20, 2015, the 12th Annual Hit the Bricks street fair took place in Fulton. Bank On More provided signage and giveaways (frisbees and cups) at the United Credit Union tent. The two-day event featured a kids parade, grand parade, car show and mule races. The fair had a special area for teens and kids, great food, crafts and entertainment. In addition to the tent with credit union information and giveaways, United Credit Union (UCU) was a fireworks sponsor.

"Being the only credit union in Callaway County, it is UCU’s mission to educate our community about the benefits of joining a credit union," says Arica Alton, Marketing Specialist at United Credit Union. "It is our goal to not only inform people about the credit union, but to influence those in our community to make sound financial decisions through continued education. At the Fulton Street Fair, we were excited to be able to do both! We look forward to participating again next year."

St. Louis Swap Meet - Sunday, July 26

Bank On More hit the St. Louis Swap Meet for the first time on Sunday, July 26 at the Lemp Brewery. The event supports shopping local and helps artists get their work out into the community. Since it is focused on the local community, it was a great place to talk about credit unions as financial cooperatives and how they give back to the St. Louis area. We gave away reusable Bank On More shopping totes. And this dog-friendly event was the perfect place to hand out dog bones.

The St. Louis Swap Meet takes place every Sunday, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., through November 1, 2015. If your credit union is interested in working the St. Louis Swap Meet on behalf of Bank On More, please contact us via email.

College Speed Savings - August 11-12 (Kansas City area)

To help college students learn the importance of personal finance, Bank On More has partnered with the Metropolitan Community College (MCC) to bring a "Speed Savings" event to the Longview campus on August 11-12. Students will visit stations that will tackle different topics: managing student loans, improving your credit score, budgeting and credit card management. Credit union experts will be at each station and explain a financial topic in short, five-minute intervals. Once a student funnels through all the stations, they are eligible for a cash drawing, sponsored by Bank On More.

The Speed Savings event is scheduled at the MCC-Longview Campus. For more information and volunteer info, please click here

Similar events are currently being planned across the state. Please stay tuned for details!

Missouri State Fair - August 13-23 (Sedalia)

Credit unions have the opportunity to spread the credit union message at the Missouri State Fair. Volunteers would sell water during four-hour shifts. Volunteers must be able to stand for the entirety of the four-hour shift, ring out customers and count change. Two people are needed at each booth, so volunteers must sign up in pairs. Every volunteer would receive a Bank On More T-shirt, free entry to the fair for that day and parking.
