St. Louis Chapter Donates $1,000 To MCUCF, Matched by MCUA

The St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions donated $1,000 to the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) during Give STL’s 24-hour giving event on Tuesday, May 5. The generous donation was matched by the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) for a contribution of $2,000.

MCUCF is a non-profit organization that supports educational and charitable opportunities for credit unions and the communities they serve. Give STL is a 24-hour giving event offering the opportunity to donate funds to local nonprofits working on causes that directly affect their community.

The chapter was challenged to take part in the special 24-hour event by fellow credit union leaders at 1st Financial Federal Credit Union who made the first donation of $1,000 that was also matched by MCUA.

“Supporting the MCUCF is one way the Chapter can help support credit unions in the region,” says Linda Fedrick, St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions 2015 Chairperson. “Smaller credit unions can find it hard to afford training and the foundation offers grant and scholarship opportunities to help them train their staff.”

The St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions supports credit unions across the St. Louis region by offering educational opportunities, political networking opportunities with lawmakers and by hosting social networking activities for the credit unions it serves.
