First Community Credit Union Helps Nurses for Newborns Foundation

The employees of First Community enjoyed dressing down during the Thanksgiving holiday week. They were given the option to participate in an event benefiting the Nurses for Newborns Foundation (NFNF) of St. Louis.

First Community learned of a dire need for diapers, wipes and toys to stock the shelves and provide for the needs of the families served by NFNF. With a payroll donation of $10 or equivalent purchases of diapers or wipes, the employee earned two days to wear jeans in the office surrounding the Thanksgiving holiday. Over $2,000 was raised and the marketing staff of First Community filled two SUV’s full of diapers, wipes and toys and delivered it to their door in Shrewsbury.

"The staff of First Community’s generosity will go a long way to help our client families," says Claire Devoto, NFNF Development director. "Thank you for always thinking about and caring for our little ones.”

This event was one of more than a dozen similar events held this year by First Community.

“We at First Community have a soft spot for operations like this that help kids,” says Glenn Barks, president of First Community. ”It gives us pride and pleasure to be part of the giving.”
