The CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference is a premier conference for political impact, credit union networking and industry insights. This year’s keynote speakers include chair, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, and former leader of the Joint Special Operations Command, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, USA (Ret.).

The 2015 GAC will take place March 8-12 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit gac.cuna.org.

Missouri Events at the GAC

There are a number of events planned for Missouri's credit union advocates during the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), March 8-12, including visits to legislative offices on Capitol Hill.

While members of the U.S. House of Representatives will not be in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Senate will be in session. Both Senators Claire McCaskill (D) and Roy Blunt (R) will hold receptions for constituents during the week, and the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) will also schedule one-on-one meetings in each Senate office. In addition, the GAC will provide an opportunity to meet with legislative staff in each House office. MCUA will schedule legislative visits on Wednesday, March 11 and if needed, on Thursday, March 12.

Missouri-specific events include a legislative briefing on Tuesday, March 10, followed by a Missouri attendee dinner. Watch the Missouri Difference for more details.

Missouri Room Block Reservation Process

MCUA has reserved a block of rooms during GAC. The Missouri room block is located in the Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel, 999 9th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001. The rate is $309 single/double a night for four nights: Sunday, March 8 – Wednesday, March 11 with check out on Thursday morning, March 12, 2015. The MCUA block is for the full four nights of GAC. If you require fewer nights, please contact Maria Langston directly at 314.542.1344 or via email.

Please fill out the GAC Housing Commitment Form and submit it by January 30, 2015. Here is the process to reserve an MCUA GAC Block Room:

  • Visit the MCUA website and fill out the GAC Housing Commitment Form: https://www.mcua.org/node/915 (an ID and password are required).
  • Use this form to confirm your housing requirements for the 2015 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. A credit union may use one form entry to request up to six rooms. NOTE: This is only a request form to provide MCUA an advance count of room needs. It does not complete your hotel reservation.
  • Please complete this form by January 30, 2014. The form is required to book a room in the Missouri GAC block.
  • Upon receipt of your Housing Commitment Form, MCUA will send to you a link to access the CUNA Housing Bureau. When you receive this email, please use the link to complete your official housing registration.

MCUA will continue to work with Missouri credit union GAC attendees regarding hotels and make every effort to get additional rooms at the Renaissance once our room block is filled. However, reservations made after the deadline may be at a different hotel.
