Northland Teachers Community CU Receives Cornerstone Award

North Kansas City Schools awarded Northland Teachers Community Credit Union the Cornerstone award in December 2014. The Cornerstone Award recognizes a business or individual who shows exemplary commitment to and support of the Education Foundation.

Since Northland Teachers Community Credit Union's inception they have had a close connection with the North Kansas City school district - 80 years and counting.

Northland Teachers Community was actually established by the teachers from the district and over the years the credit union has helped them manage their assets. When the Education Foundation came along in 1996, this organization quickly became a friend and supporter by sponsoring annual events like the Fall Breakfast and 5K.

"It’s my honor and pleasure to present our first 2014 Cornerstone Award to Northland Teachers Community Credit Union," said Jan Lewis, Education Foundation Director of North Kansas City Schools. Carolyn Ross, who retired as CEO earlier this year after 30 years on the job, was on-site to accept the award on behalf of the credit union.
