CMCCU Celebrates Grand Opening

Central Missouri Community Credit Union (CMCCU) celebrated the grand opening of their new main branch in Warrensburg with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Dr. Michael Ash, chairman of the Board of Directors at CMCCU emceed the event, speakers included, Carol White, CEO, Central Missouri Community Credit Union, Donna DeFrain, mayor, City of Warrensburg, Paula Hertwig-Hopkins, city manager, City of Warrensburg, and Rick Solomon, chairman, Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

“This is a monumental day,” says Ash. “The credit union was first organized July 24, 1961… We had 62 members and $9,844 in assets. From small beginnings, we’ve come this far. Today, we have well over 15,000 members and over $100 million in assets. A lot of good people, hard work, and good energy have gone into making this a success, but we couldn’t have done it without our membership, and for that, we are very thankful.”

“Isn’t this a great looking building? Isn’t it a great entry into the city of Warrensburg?” shares Donna DeFrain, mayor of Warrensburg and former chairman of the Board of Directors at Central Missouri Community Credit Union. “The credit union building is an excellent example of a public-private partnership between the city and the credit union.  We shared the public improvement cost to a total of $155,000.”

“I look forward to your annual meeting because every year we hear from your CEO that your assets have increased, your services have increased, and your facilities have increased to the point that your dedicating this building today,” says Paula Hertwig-Hopkins, city manager.

Rick Solomon, chairman, Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, facilitated the ribbon cutting on behalf of the chamber. Carol White, CEO, and Dr. Michael Ash, chairman, had the honor of cutting the ribbon. CMCCU employees presented Erica Collins and Dr. Scott Patrick a check for $1,000 to Johnson County Cares, a coalition of agencies and individuals working together in service to our community while enhancing the quality of life of our friends, neighbors, and citizens of Johnson County, Missouri.

More than 250 members and guests visited the branch to celebrate the credit union’s new location and tour the building.
