Build a Stronger Lending Program with Expert Rex Johnson

The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) wants to motivate and inspire credit unions with the University of Lending Mini Session on August 19-20, and again on August 21-22. One of the industry’s top lending experts, Rex Johnson, will provide the training.

“Serving all your members cannot be an option. Taking risks cannot be an option. We will show you how to approve and close 90% of all your loan applications," says Johnson. "We will focus on interviewing skills which makes it all happen. Send as many of your employees as possible and let’s get serious about lending!”

This event aims to teach credit union attendees the foundation for building a strong and profitable lending program. The agenda covers topics like scoring models/score enhancement, decision making, high yield lending strategy and sales skills. 

Day One

8:30 a.m. - noon
Scoring Models/Score Enhancement - What you really
need to know about scoring models, like how to recognize
good scores from bad scores and what direction the score
is headed. 
noon Lunch 
1 - 5 p.m. 
Decision Making - Learn how to make a loan that would
typically be turned down by asking the right questions.
You will be provided tools to make decision making easy
and a decision matrix so more of your employees are
empowered to make decisions on the spot, speed up
service and help develop a strong lending team
Day Two   
8 a.m.  Breakfast 
8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Decision Making/High-Yield Lending Strategy - Credit
unions need yield. The new High Yield Loan Decision Model
will show you how to approve loans you never dreamed of
and start serving more members by making loans available,
regardless of their score. Learn how trend is your friend and
far more important than the score. 
12 p.m.  Lunch
1 - 5 p.m. 
Sales Skills - Learn how to evaluate your employees for the 
attributes of a good sales person. Once you identify the
right people, they will show you how to teach them the
best techniques. Learn how to cross-sell to new members
and build your loan portfolio. You'll also be provided with
examples of incentive programs that work.

This is a special offer for credit unions in Missouri, which was made possible by the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) CDFI Steering Committee: Alliance Credit Union, Electro Savings Credit Union, Poplar Bluff Federal Credit Union and United Credit Union.
