ESCU Celebrates Employee's 30-Year Anniversary
Electro Savings Credit Union (St. Louis) is proud to recognize and celebrate the 30-year service anniversary of its longest term employee, Sarena Hutson. Starting as the credit union’s receptionist on January 5, 1984, Hutson has progressed to lending supervisor responsible for the day-to-day operations of the credit union’s loan department.
“Lending has changed quite a bit since I first started," says Hutson. "Back then lending was ‘cookie cutter,’ especially if you worked for one of our employer groups and had your payroll deposited to the credit union.”
When Electro Savings expanded its membership to St. Louis County and surrounding communities in 2002, Hutson explained the credit union had to adjust.
“We have so many tools available now in comparison to 15-20 years ago in which to evaluate and help our members get the right loan,” states Hutson.
“I am definitely looking forward to the credit union’s outreach programs to help the underserved and unbanked of the St. Louis area,” continues Hutson. “Counseling our current members and future members about financial issues is critical to their financial success. Our focus on providing payday loan and buy-here pay-here auto loan alternatives, as well as educating people on how to improve their credit so they can qualify for traditional financial services is so important. I am really excited to be part of it.”
