2014 GAC Approaches, Missouri Room Block Filling Up

Don’t miss the chance to represent Missouri credit unions at the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) on February 23-27 in Washington, D.C. GAC is the national credit union advocacy event of the year. A limited number of rooms remain available in the Missouri block, so act quickly to secure a spot.

Please fill out the GAC Housing Commitment Form and submit it by January 7, 2014. Accommodation details can also be found on this page.

Missouri Events at the GAC

During the GAC, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) will organize legislative meetings on Capitol Hill for attendees. Meeting directly with constituents to discuss issues that impact their district leaves a more lasting impression with lawmakers. A legislative briefing specific to Missouri and a group dinner are also on the agenda. Credit union leaders - including staff and board members - are encouraged to participate in GAC.

Missouri will have one of their own recognized on the national level during the GAC, when CommunityAmerica Credit Union CEO Dennis Pierce becomes chairman of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Board of Directors.

There will be a separate registration for Missouri-specific events, requesting flight details and contact information to help MCUAplan legislative visits and be able to reach attendees in case of last minute changes to meetings on the Hill.  Watch for Missouri GAC event registration coming soon.

The 2014 GAC agenda is robust, featuring knowledgeable speakers, informative breakout sessions and exciting events. In fact, the keynote speaker this year is no other than Madeleine Albright, who is best known as the first female United States Secretary of State.

Additionally, GAC provides an opportunity to not only meet with lawmakers, but offers a chance to collaborate with other credit union professionals from across the nation. Thousands of credit union staff and board members will attend this event.
