CMCCU Breaks Ground for New Main Branch
Central Missouri Community Credit Union (CMCCU) (Warrensburg) held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, for their new location on the corner of Maguire Street and West Business 50. “The new building will be a monument to welcome people into the city,” says Chairman of the Board Dr. Michael Ash.
Central Missouri Community Credit Union received their certificate of organization approved by Missouri Division of Credit Unions to serve the Missouri State Teachers Association on July 24, 1961. In December 1961, CMCCU had $9,844 in assets with 62 members. Today, CMCCU has over 14,000 members and approaching $100 million in assets. CMCCU will move the main branch from 201 S Holden Street, where they have been located for over 20 years.
“As CEO and a long time employee of this Credit Union, it is exciting to see us grow to the extent that we need a bigger building with which to offer more services for our members," says Carol White, president and CEO of CMCCU. "They are why we exist. It is our job to give them the best financial services and products that we possibly can."
White also gives credit to the staff for the accomplishment, “I couldn’t do it alone. I really appreciate everyone’s effort to get where we are today…building from the ground up.”
