MCUA Sends NCUA Regulatory Review Comment Letter
The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) sent the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) a comment letter on Aug. 5, 2013 detailing changes to regulations that NCUA has under review for 2013. NCUA annually reviews one-third of the agency’s regulations, resulting in all of the agency’s regulations being reviewed every three years. This year, the regulations under review include those for share insurance, credit union service organizations (CUSO), member business loans (MBL) and appraisals. Highlights include:
- Request to end assessments for the Corporate Stabilization Fund.
- Request to cancel or revamp the proposed CUSO rule that has been delayed for nearly two years.
- Request to revamp the MBL rule giving credit unions more latitude and authority to conduct MBLs. This includes ending or modifying the personal guarantee requirement.
