New Banker Attacks Ramp Up: Missouri “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” Efforts Needed
The bankers are ramping up their anti-credit union efforts with a website and Twitter feed (@ItsTime2Pay) dedicated to fighting the credit union tax status.
Don’t let bankers have the last word. Missouri’s credit unions are urged to take part in the Don’t Tax My Credit Union effort and get the message to federal lawmakers that the credit union tax exemption serves an important purpose and must be retained.
Involve staff, volunteers and members in contacting federal lawmakers to tell them “Don’t Tax My Credit Union.” Visit the Don't Tax MY Credit Union website or call toll-free 877-642-4223 to take part. Here are some details about Missouri DTMCU action so far.
- At least 21 Missouri credit union organizations participated in #DontTaxTuesday July 23 on Twitter and Facebook.
- Between May 22 – July 24, there were 9,634 total contacts made to Missouri U.S. Senators and Representatives.
- 54 credit unions chartered in Missouri have made at least one contact through the Don’t Tax My Credit Union website.
