Neighbors CU Helps Women in Mozambique
On Tuesday, June 25, 2013, Neighbors Credit Union (St. Louis) donated over 40 bras to a charity called “Free The Girls.” The employees of the credit union had been collecting items for a month and were able to produce a great result.
“Free The Girls” is a charity that gives women and children who have been saved from sex trafficking a chance at a new life. Donated bras are taken to an African city in Mozambique, for the women to sell in the streets. Each bra sells for $1, which is a half day’s wage in their town. This gives women a chance to break away from trafficking and a way to bring money to the family for food, water and shelter.
If you would like to help, a percentage of purchases made at Rosemary Grove benefit the Covering House (TCH). TCH is a St. Louis organization that assists area children and women who have escaped sexual trafficking. You can also directly make donations to the non-profit here.
