Architectural Firm Lifts Off With American Eagle
In honor of National Small Business Week, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) is featuring several credit unions’ small business success stories.
Headquartered in St. Louis, American Eagle Credit Union (AECU) made all the difference for one small business in South City.
“We had a vision for this building to make it a hub for creative types,” says Mike Killeen, from Killeen Studio Architects. “But most of all it’s a nice flexible building for our architectural practice.”
In late 2011, Killeen started doing business with American Eagle, a division of Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union. He came to the credit union with a plan to renovate a building to fulfill the needs of Killeen Studio Architects and several other local companies.
“At our previous bank, when it came time for us to talk about a new loan,” explains Killeen, “they treated us like we had just walked in the door for the first time. That’s when I turned to American Eagle.”
He shared that he felt the credit union really understood his vision and enthusiastically supported the plan.
“These guys trusted me and that meant the world.”
