MCUA Makes Staffing Changes
Don Cohenour, president/CEO of the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA), announced staffing changes on June 17, 2013. Five MCUA vice presidents have been promoted to senior vice presidents. These promotions were effective on June 16, 2013.
“I am pleased to announce my new senior management team of the Missouri Credit Union Association,” says President Cohenour. “I am eliminating my former position as chief membership officer, and with the recent announcement of Peggy Nalls’ retirement, the chief advocacy officer position will also be eliminated.”
Liz Adams has been promoted to senior vice president of Member Relations. Reporting to Liz will be the vice president of Marketing and Communications. She will hire a vice president of Events/executive director of the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) to manage the functions associated with major conferences and also the day-to-day responsibilities of MCUCF.
Amy McLard has been promoted to senior vice president of Advocacy. Amy will continue to drive the federal advocacy strategies and direct the state level activities through the vice president of Grassroots & Development and the political specialist. Amy will also continue to work closely with outside lobbyists John McKechnie at the federal level and Mike Winter at the state level.
Bob Schuckmann has been promoted to senior vice president of Finance & Technology. Bob will oversee the finance functions, accounting department along with the information technology department. The vice president of Information Technology will report to Bob.
Barb Stanek has been promoted to senior vice president of Operations. In addition to iVia Exchange Services and the cards program through Illinois Credit Union System, she will also be responsible for shared branching department. The sales staff and field staff will also report to Barb.
John Thomas has been promoted to senior vice president of Regulatory Compliance. In addition to the compliance consultants, John will review all MCUA contracts and manage the relationships with outside counsel. The director of Professional Development will also report to John and will be responsible for all compliance training.
In addition to the senior vice presidents, Pat Behnen, vice president of Administration and Monica Burnett, vice president of Human Resources will continue to report directly to President Cohenour.
“These promotions reflect conversations I had with the membership during the recent Coffee with Cohenour meetings,” says Cohenour. “They are aligned with the commitments I made to create a structure that will make your Association stronger. We will move forward together with our mission to make credit unions grow!”
