National Credit Union Youth Week - April 21-27
Credit unions celebrate youth in April. Whether you chose to celebrate all month, or just during National Credit Union Youth Week™, there are plenty of resources to show youth they can benefit from visiting—and saving at—their credit union. You gather the youth members, and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) will provide ready-to-use items to help you promote your celebration simply and effectively to several age groups. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Add Saving Music Video to Your Website
The Disclosures – the Madison, Wis.-based "musicians with a mission" – have released a new song and music video for kids called "Thank My Piggy Bank," which introduces basic concepts of saving.
"Our rock song breaks new ground combining music and humor to teach kids important lessons about money, savings, and responsible spending," said Disclosures band member Chad Helminak.
Add this video to your website, and send links out in member communications. Tell parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to share with the youth in their lives as part of National Financial Literacy Month.
Quarter Saver Folders
In honor of Financial Literacy Month, the best-selling quarter saver folder is on sale (while supplies last). This simple tool presents young ones with one of the most basic money management lessons. The back side has the child write out a saving goal and then collect money toward that goal. Get a closer look at the quarter saver in this video. This offer is for new orders, only, while supplies last.
