Mergers are a big discussion and issue in the credit union world. Not just in Kansas and Missouri – but across the country.
"As we begin working with Cornerstone to explore the possibility of a merger, we want to make it clear that it is the prospect of combining two well-capitalized entities to create a larger regional league that moves us forward," said Lisa Althoff-Simmons, interim president/CEO. "The Heartland Credit Union Association brings strengths, value, and talented staff to the table – and Cornerstone’s strengths bring a good balance to HCUA. Our association is strategically focused on making sure this merger will enhance your membership value as we proceed with the due diligence process."
A big part of that process is having face-to-face discussions about what this means for Kansas and Missouri credit unions and the association. The goals for these meetings is to answer questions and engage in thoughtful and meaningful conversations that will inform and help us better forge the path ahead.
