Quantum Credit Union

CUlead is a program aimed at building and enhancing our credit union management staffs' leadership abilities to further the credit union and cooperative movements. With these CUlead spotlights, we're excited to shine a light on these leaders.

This week, we meet Natalie Ring, retail branch manager at Quantum Credit Union (Wichita, KS)

How long have you be in the credit union industry?

1 year

What drew you to credit union work? What keeps you working in the credit union field?

After over 20 years in retail I was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic and started looking for other areas to apply the knowledge that I had gained during my many years of management. People are my passion. I love training and developing staff and watching them grow and evolve and find their passion. Getting to know my members and feeling like myself and my team can truly make an impact in their lives keeps me going. I like feeling like I can make a difference.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Be confident. They hired you for a reason. Keep an open mind and don't be afraid to ask questions. You are never done learning. Share your opinions but remember that Rome wasn't built in a day.

If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would that be?

Be honest, genuine and kind to everyone, always.

There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types?

Those who do and those who wish they did.
