Exciting news about the people staffers in our region! Credit Union of America's Brian Isham, AVP of culture, has been named a 2022 Credit Union Rock Star. Plus, the credit union also announced the promotion of Eric Mitchell to branch manager. West Community has recently announced hiring assistant branch manager, Majesta Drennen. 


Credit Union of America's Brian Isham named 2022 Credit Union Rock Star

Congrats to Credit Union Rock Star Brian Isham, AVP of culture at Credit Union of America! Now in its tenth year, the Credit Union Rock Stars program recognizes outstanding credit union professionals and board members from a wide range of disciplines who use their unique strengths to advance the missions of their credit unions. This year’s winners were selected for their exceptional creativity, innovation, and passion for the credit union movement. 

"The 10th class of Credit Union Rock Stars demonstrates once again that our movement is filled with those who invent, innovate, and most importantly inspire," says Michelle Willits, Credit Union Magazine publisher. "Our Rock Stars represent small to large credit unions nationwide and work in operations, leadership, and board roles. We are proud to present this year's class, brought to you by Fiserv."

Credit Union of America promotes Eric Mitchell

CUA has promoted Eric D. Mitchell II to branch manager of the Derby Branch (1100 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS). He joined CUA in 2019 as a Financial Service Representative at the Wichita-North Rock Road office, then moving into management as Assistant Branch Manager at the Woodlawn, Delano, and East Harry branches. In his manager duties, he assures branch operations and profitability, oversees loan underwriting, and coaches and develops the team for optimum member service.

Mitchell earned his bachelor’s in business administration at Wichita State University (KS), with minors in Management, Finance, and Marketing.

West Community Credit Union announces Drennen as assistant branch manager

West Community Credit Union is pleased to announce Majesta Drennen as the new assistant branch manager of their Brentwood, Mo location. Drennen is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the branch office and reinforcing the member experience.

“We are so happy to have Majesta join our management team,” stated Karie Handley, Brentwood branch manager. “She brings over five years credit union management experience and has already created successful relationships with members and branch staff.”

“I look forward to helping the Brentwood team grow and develop in their roles and create partnerships that keep members returning to West Community for all their banking needs,” stated Drennen. “I love being able to assist in many different areas and help our members with their financial goals. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are.”

Drennen is excited for the growth opportunities at West Community Credit Union.
