Rick Dodds, Director, Meritrust Credit Union

HCUA’s Volunteer of the Year award recognize credit union volunteers who give their time, effort, and talent to support, promote and advocate for the credit union idea movement. Their efforts have improved people’s lives, enriched their community and demonstrated loyalty to the credit union industry.

Rick Dodds has been a volunteer of Meritrust Credit Union for over 20 years, serving on the credit union’s credit committee, supervisory committee and board of directors since 2004. He held every officer position on the board, and he has been chair a total of seven years.

Rick always asks about the voice of the member and how the credit union helps members improve their lives. He has been a champion for change at Meritrust and helped lead the credit union through its market and branch expansion, charter change, digital transformation and a host of new products and services. He has always been a consummate learner and brings his curiosity and
passion for service to every meeting and to our industry.

Rick has stepped in to assist our movement when asked. He has testified before the legislative committee on behalf of Kansas credit unions regarding field of membership.
