CUlead is a program aimed at building and enhancing our credit union management staffs' leadership abilities to further the credit union and cooperative movements. With these CUlead spotlights, we're excited to shine a light on these leaders.
This week, we meet Caroline Richardson, chief retail & commercial officer at Volt Credit Union (Springfield, MO).
How long have you be in the credit union industry?
What is your favorite thing about working at a credit union?
My favorite thing about working at a credit union is the feeling of belonging. Not only as an employee but as a member, it feels like home away from home.
What does true leadership mean to you?
For me, true leadership is the ability to lead a group of people towards a mutual goal. It is the ability to envision a goal, effectively communicate the goal and inspire the team to achieve it. I believe the number one quality of a leader is empathy.
There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types?
Those who make lists and those who don't.
