Senior executive and Kansas Citian Drew Meyerowich has joined Shared Financial Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Heartland Credit Union Association (HCUA).
As a natural leader with proven ability to motivate teams, Drew will serve as president of Shared Financial Solutions. In this role, he will be responsible for developing and growing solutions that help strengthen credit unions and help them grow. He will be focused on driving the Association’s business solutions department.
“His record of successfully solving complex issues, along with his teaching and training experience and authentic leadership will enhance HCUA’s strategic vision, operational excellence and culture,” said Brad Douglas, president/CEO of the Heartland Credit Union Association. “With his background, he brings a different perspective that can help us unite, strengthen and advance credit unions.”
He has extensive experience in both business and government operations, having served in leadership roles in both. Prior to HCUA, he was the chief operating officer for Holland 1916, the parent company of three business segments based in the Kansas City area, and most recently, he was the president of Defense Logistics. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the United State Military Academy at West Point and holds a master’s degree in Strategic Communications.
During his military service, he was awarded the Nation’s third highest award for valor by leading from the front under the highest of adversity. He is a trusted advisor to many including boards of directors, investors, and decision makers.
He says he never leaves home without coffee, and you might hear him humming a bar or two of his theme song, "Mahna Mahna
" by the Muppets.
In his spare time, he might find him watching "The Outlaw Josey Whales" or "Driving Miss Daisy."
He works out of HCUA’s corporate headquarters in Overland Park, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. His first day was August 16, 2021. He can be reached via email or 800.392.3074, x1430. You can also connect with him on LinkedIn.
To get to know Drew better, we asked him a few questions:
- What’s invisible but you wish people could see? Integrity
- What’s the most ridiculous fact you know? Either 1) West Point fact that there are 340 Lights in Cullum Hall or 2) the fact that you can’t hum while holding your nose.
- Would you rather always say everything on your mind or never speak again? The world couldn’t handle one and I couldn’t handle the other.
