The Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines mandate that financial institutions are informed about the requirements of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The regulations and federal law require all appraisals to be USPAP compliant if they are relied on for lending. The Dodd-Frank modifications to Title XI of FIRREA require financial institutions to refer residential appraisals that do not conform to USPAP to the relevant state appraisers’ board. That law is equipped with fines for noncompliance. Is your institution in full compliance with these regulatory and legal requirements? (Note: This webinar is not a replacement for the full USPAP education, but will serve as a starting point.)

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Introduction to USPAP – an overview for financial institutions
  • How not understanding USPAP can be detrimental to your institution’s operations
  • How USPAP intersects with the engagement process
  • How USPAP differs from underwriter guidelines
  • Why USPAP is particularly important for reviewers
  • Best practices for avoiding regulatory and law violations regarding USPAP

TAKE-AWAY TOOLKIT

  • Supplemental manual with relevant excerpts from USPAP and resources for further study
  • Employee training log
  • Quiz you can administer to measure staff learning and a separate answer key

Attendance verification for CE credits provided upon request.
