Terms and Refund Cancellation Policy: Please write to MCUA Professional Development Department fourteen (14) business days prior to the event for a full refund, minus a $100 administration fee. Substitutions accepted anytime. Send cancellation notice to pd@mcua.org or fax to (314) 542-1312.



Inclement Weather Policy: If MCUA reschedules a training session because of inclement weather or other uncontrollable circumstances, MCUA will make every effort to promptly notify all registrants by a website message, email or telephone. MCUA will reschedule the training session and registrations will be transferred to the new date, after which MCUA’s Cancellation Policy will apply. If the training session is not re-scheduled, full refunds will be provided.



If MCUA does not cancel a training session during inclement conditions or other uncontrollable circumstances, it is up to the registrant or credit union manager to decide if the registrant should attend the program. In an instance where the registrant or credit union manager decides that the inclement weather impedes the registrant’s safe travel, the registration fee will be refunded minus a $100 processing fee.





By registering for this event, I hereby grant the Missouri Credit Union Association permission to use my likeness in a photograph in any and all of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration. I understand and agree that these materials will become the property of the Missouri Credit Union Association and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the Missouri Credit Union Association to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute this photo for purposes of publicizing programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Presenters

Christy Curtis Jones is an attorney and partner with Sherpy & Jones, P.A., a firm which specializes in servicing credit unions’ needs. Ms. Jones graduated with honors from the College of Charleston, earning a B.A. in History, and received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She was an Associate Articles Editor for the South Carolina Law Review and a member of the Order of the Wig & Robe. Ms. Jones currently concentrates her practice in the areas of creditor/debtor rights, bankruptcy, collections, foreclosure and regulatory compliance.

She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, and is admitted to practice before the South Carolina Federal Court, District of South Carolina. She serves as the 11th Judicial Circuit's Representative to the South Carolina Bar's Young Lawyers Division and has been appointed to the Bar’s Committee on Professional Potential. Ms. Jones is a regular speaker at multiple Credit Union Leagues, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Iowa, Utah, and Wisconsin. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law, teaching legal writing to first year students.

 

R. Todd Sherpy is a founding partner in the South Carolina law firm Sherpy & Jones, P.A. Todd is dedicated to serving all legal needs of Credit Unions and has attained a national reputation for his legal-auditing and compliance work. The firm provides compliance auditing, training and consulting services to Credit Unions throughout the United States. Todd dedicates a large portion of his time to teaching Credit Unions, having made presentations in 40 States and participating as an instructor through CUNA & Affiliates Regulatory Compliance, Collections and Credit Counseling, Marketing, Consumer Loan Officer and Economics and Investments Schools and Conferences.
 
Todd is the author of CUNA’s RegTrac Compliance Modules on Consumer, Real Estate Lending, and Member Business Lending; CUNA’s White Paper on Privacy; CUNA's Guide to Compliance with Revised Article Nine; CSG’s Volunteers Achievement Program on Directors’ Liability, and many other Credit Union resources.  Todd is also the editor of the periodical “Credit Union Legal News©.” Todd is general counsel to the South Carolina Credit Union League and consults with the Georgia and North Credit Union Leagues.

Todd brings a unique perspective to his practice having grown up in the Credit Union industry and being married to a Credit Union executive. The Credit Union philosophy and practical application issues are reflected in the team’s approach to legal matters and the products that are provided for Credit Union use.

In 2005 Todd developed CURES, L.L.C., (Credit Union Resources and Educational Services) to serve the compliance/regulatory needs of Credit Unions. CURES includes the "Compliance Community Plan" under which Credit Unions are offered audit and/or continuing compliance services at a significant saving through cooperative participation in a plan serving the common needs of many Credit Union. Under the Plan, Todd, the firm and CURES. L.L.C. has worked with approximately 400 Credit Unions in 23 States.  Under this plan, CURES provides participants with all electronic (cd-rom, diskette and e-mail) policies, procedures, notices, updates, explanations, internal training guides, as well as many forms, from collection and bankruptcy documentation to full member account services guides and forms. In addition to providing compliance resources to Credit Unions directly, his resources or parts thereof are available via The Forms Company and Minnesota Mutual.

After graduating with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Todd worked for a United States Bankruptcy Trustee for three years. Todd is a member of the Credit Union Sub-committee of the American Bar Association and the Operations and Supervisory Committees of the Credit Union Sub-Committee.  Todd has two daughters and is married to Credit Union Executive Trisha P. Sherpy.
