Annual Advocacy Meeting
Join us in Jefferson City as delegates from across Missouri gather to:

  • Learn about state and federal legislative issues affecting credit unions and consumers.
  • Meet with state legislators to discuss credit union issues and concerns and share the credit union difference.
  • Engage lawmakers in a financial literacy reality fair in the Capitol Rotunda and help demonstrate credit unions' commitment to financial education.
  • Participate in Missouri Corporate Credit Union and Heartland Business Services business meetings.

What is a reality fair?
As part of the initiative to increase financial literacy among youth, the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) has partnered with the Missouri Council on Economic Education to fund a series of financial reality fairs. The reality fairs allow students to connect what they are learning in the classroom with situations they will face in the real world.

Utilizing the CUNA Mad City Money program the reality fairs teach high school students the value of budgeting and money management in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Each student is given a life scenario in which they have to create and manage a personal budget. Credit union professionals volunteer at these reality fairs to help provide the teens with financial guidance and advisement.

Join area high school students and volunteers from the credit unions of Missouri as they take part in a reality fair in the Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday, March 11.

Legislative Visits
When scheduling legislative meetings, Project Zip Code ( is an excellent resource to determine which lawmakers represent your credit union members. If you require assistance with Project Zip Code or making appointments with lawmakers, please contact MCUA Advocacy at 314.542.1305 or no later than March 3.

MCUA will also attempt to schedule group meetings with lawmakers who have a large number of representatives at the Annual Advocacy Meeting.
