AGENDA

1 - 1:05 p.m.

Welcome Remarks
Brad Douglas and Innovation Council, HCUA

1:05 – 2:05 p.m.

Keynote
Bridging the Gap Between Credit Unions and Fintechs
Brian Kaas, CMFG Ventures

We know that disruption is occurring in financial services, but with all the hype in the market, it can be hard to know how to respond. Are these startups disruptors or potential partners? What do fintech startups mean for Credit Unions? CUNA Mutual Group recently established its own venture fund, CMFG Ventures, to help address these questions. This session will address fintech trends, how CMFG Ventures is seeking opportunities for credit unions in this new and innovative space, and how credit unions can become involved.

2:15 – 2:35 p.m. Demo: Jane.ai

Jane has a host of use cases for the financial industry. She’s currently hard at work in the credit union space, where she answers members’ questions on account management, loan applications, mortgage rates, and more. She can also work internally within financial institutions, providing team members instant access to company policies, email, calendar, accounting software, loan origination systems, CRM, HRIS, and so much more.
2:40 – 3 p.m. Demo: College Roadmap

College Roadmap is the only calculator in the United States that enables a user to compare the net cost of more than 6,000 colleges in one single click. The tool incorporates the two biggest drivers in determining the actual cost of college: family household income, and place of residence. The application provides a cost breakdown of every key factor that makes up the total price of college. One of the more compelling and differentiating features is that it provides both sticker and net costs, including the average financial package families have historically received from any given college similar to their income level. Students can compare as many colleges as they desire. The tool is web-based, mobile-friendly and best yet, is absolutely free.
3:05 – 3:25 p.m.

Demo: Motion Code

The Motion Code program is a revolutionary product aimed at combating card not present fraud. Replacing the static CVV2 value on the back of the card with a dynamic CVV2 value that refreshes on a regular interval set by the financial institution. The Motion Code card requires no integration or development and there is no impact to reoccurring payments or to existing cardholder behavior. If compromised, the data becomes useless to the fraudster.

3:30 – 3:50 p.m. Demo: Eltropy

Eltropy brings credit unions and members closer together by making communication easy and convenient. Built on a foundation of IT integration, TCPA compliance, and business intelligence, our software drives member engagement and fuels revenue. Our ability to integrate with core banking, loan origination, marketing, CRM and many other systems increases the efficiency of member-facing teams while providing a better member experience. We also help credit unions meet regulatory standards, and deliver real-time and predictive analytics that empower executives to make data-driven decisions. Eltropy uses members’ favorite communications channel — text messaging — to boost credit unions’ bottom line.
4 – 5 p.m.
