We are adding to our team! We are looking for a unique individual to provide guidance and expertise to our compliance and advocacy teams. This includes updating credit unions with timely, high quality compliance assistance and providing guidance on proposed changes in statutes and regulations that could impact credit unions. You will help coordinate the compliance and regulatory advocacy efforts to address member credit union needs including drafting comment letters, compliance assistance and updates and assist with internal contract management process and procedures.

Compliance Officer: Azura Credit Union (Topeka, KS)

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with appropriate state and federal laws and regulations along with overseeing our Bank Secrecy Act activities.  Reviews and analyzes new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union’s current practices. Develops and revises current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Assists with the completion of internal audits as needed. Compiles and issues reports detailing conclusions and providing recommendations for improvement.  Prepares and files reports with government agencies as directed by law. The Compliance Officer will be required to travel between credit union branches as needed or to conduct business virtually to complete reviews.

In coordination with, and under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the VP Accounting manages the overall operations of the Accounting and Payment Systems departments. Reviews processes, systems, and reporting requirements for these departments. Provides support to all staff during peak work periods and staff shortages. Establishes, coordinates, and maintains an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the credit union and ensures all accounting processes are in accordance with GAAP and credit union policies and procedures.
