Nearly 65,000 take action: Keep the IRS call to action going

Updated 10.12.21

Thank you to thousands of concerned Kansas and Missouri credit union leaders and members for taking action with Congress to share the serious concerns with an IRS proposal that would require financial institutions – including credit unions – to report additional account holder information. So far, Congress has received 41,803 messages from Missouri credit union leaders and members, and 23,184 messages from Kansas credit union leaders and members in opposition to this measure.

If you haven’t shared this information with your staff, board, and even your members - take action now.  These reporting provisions would affect your members’ privacy and your credit union’s operations.  As of October 11, credit unions have worked together to send nearly 500,000 messages nationwide – encouraging lawmakers to oppose this proposal. If you are willing to alert your members to this issue and ask them to take action - resources from the Member Activation Program can help.
