ACTION ALERT: Tell Senators to not to include the IRS provision

Published 11.29.21

Thank you for your action in helping stop the provision requiring credit unions, along with other financial institutions, to report additional information to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This provision was NOT included in the reconciliation bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. More than 65,000 messages went to our federal delegation before the vote, and we heard loud and clear from our Kansas and Missouri House members that your actions made a difference in keeping the IRS proposal OUT of the bill.

The Build Back Better Act now goes to the U.S. Senate, and your help is needed again. Make sure that our four Senators hear directly from credit union advocates in their district, explaining how these new IRS reporting provisions would be a bad idea, and should not be included in the Senate version.

Take action today and contact your U.S. Senators. Please share this action alert with staff members, board, and even your credit union members.
