Did you know that women in the credit union industry are more likely to start in lower-level positions and are less likely to achieve executive-level status compared to men? Or that globally only 15% of credit unions are led by women?
The KS/MO Sister Society, in partnership with the Global Women's Leadership Network* and Sister Societies around the globe, are striving to tackle the industry’s gender gap by providing women with the tools and resources they need to advance their career.
Join us for KS/MO Sister Society free launch party—we’ll have desserts, networking, speakers, and an inspiring activity. The KS/MO Sister Society is the local GWLN chapter established to further the Network’s global mission by making a local impact. The KS/MO Sister Society’s mission is to inspire women to lead through professional development, mentorship, and networking. We will host several events, live and virtual, in 2022 focused on whole-person wellness and resilience.
The GWLN and KS/MO Sister Society are welcoming of all people.
The Kansas Missouri Sister Society is proud to support the Global Women’s Leadership Network. Visit cuwomen.org to become a member and learn more.
We encourage those interested in the Sister Society to also register for our SHIFT Conference which runs before and after this.

Featured Charity: Dress for Success Kansas City
In addition to educational and networking opportunities, the KS/MO Sister Society will also help advance women through philanthropic efforts. The Sister Society will feature the charitable organization “Dress for Success Kansas City” at our launch party on April 5. Dress for Success helps women successfully transition into the workforce by providing professional attire and networking giving women the confidence they need to achieve financial freedom and economic stability.
To support their work, we will be collecting gently used professional attire. Please see their website for more information about the clothing and accessories that are accepted as donations.
Speaking of dressing for success, in support of our mission, we encourage all launch party attendees to wear something pink. This could be your whole outfit to an accessory!

*More about GWLN
Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) is one of the original diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives established in 2009 by the World Council of Credit Unions to provide women in the credit union arena a safe forum to discuss issues to further their professional and personal journeys. In line with the mission and as we harness this power each day and make the case for greater economic empowerment of women, credit unions and financial cooperatives around the world are achieving success.
