21 Credit Union Professionals Selected for 2017 CUlead Class

Organizations are only as good as their people. As credit union executives are nearing retirement age, credit unions know they need key staff to step up and fill top-level roles. The CUlead program can prepare these staff members. 

CUlead: Leadership Excellence and Development is a comprehensive, one-year, interactive program for Kansas and Missouri credit union staff who possess leadership potential and are ready to further develop their skills.

Representing 17 credit unions from Kansas and Missouri, these individuals come from a variety of backgrounds including operations, information technology, lending, manager/branch manager, finance, marketing and training. 

“CUlead builds leaders, but a benefit we often hear about is the relationships between the class members, “said Amy Pennington, Director of Training for the Heartland Credit Union Association. “The intense nature of the course allows students to develop leadership abilities, and form networking connections that last a lifetime.”  

Coordinated by the Heartland Credit Union Association, the program’s comprehensive curriculum was created specifically for future credit union leaders and covers everything from advocacy and communication skills to regulator insights and financial analysis.
